She was praised by critics for her performance in Louis Malle's 1978 film Pretty Baby (1978). He was also the character Matt "Fletch" Fletcher in Wentworth. He was born in Howick, Auckland, Jeffery relocated to Australia at the age of 17 to study acting at NIDA.
